Today was a short day due to rain that started around 12:30-1 ish. On the bright side however we were able to finish one of the walls in the short amount of time we had. We finished one wall that will have a window in it so people will be able to look out and see the top of the t-bar from the start. We started by taking 2 2x4x12 and putting them on top of each other and making them flush to one another. We marked every 16 inches where they would be held together. We decided to make the height of the wall 6'8" so that most people would be able to stand inside without hitting there head even if they had skis on. After everything was cut and ready to go the hammers started pounding nail by nail. It wasn't too long before we were looking at the frame of the wall. Next comes the strapping to hold it together to make it stronger and so that it doesn't become unshaped. But before that we had to measure across both sides to make sure that it was square. We had to do a couple adjustments by pushing one end with our foot to make it more even on both sides. The strapping comes in bundles at 12 feet long. We had to make sure both ends were flat then we were able to start nailing them down. About 3/4 of the way through the strapping it started to drizzle but we sped up a bit and were able to finish the strapping before it started to pour. This saw the completion of one wall and the end of our day. Tomorrow we hope to complete the other wall as well as maybe start the decking on the base.
